Just a thought.. :)

What would happen if thoughts were virtual? Like they reached out and actually did what we were thinking?? Would we think twice before… thinking??!!??

It would be so nice to feel that someone was praying for us through a moment of difficulty and could we then feel their arms around us, comforting and reassuring?? Or what if they saw the tears when we cried; they sent caring thoughts and wiped those tears away? How would that make us feel?

At times I have prayed for someone who needed a miracle. While other times, I have sent caring thoughts across miles to someone I haven’t seen in years.

And sometimes when we were angry with someone and our thoughts would reach out and touch the person, leaving actual bruises on their face!?!

Imagine if our thoughts could create reality!! Wouldn’t the world be an entirely different place?

But fortunately or unfortunately they aren’t for real… God has created a protective shield so we can protect our minds from wandering to and fro, getting anxious about things we can’t change, fearful about things that really don’t need our attention. He has kept us safe from our own powerful thoughts...

Choices...

I went to buy a t-shirt and I had to choose just one… but choosing just one t-shirt is so difficult! There are so many in the store, in so many colors, shapes and sizes. Which one am I going to buy??!! Why is it so difficult to choose one? After all it is just a t-shirt!

Why are choices so difficult to make? Why do we keep thinking again and again? Is it something with the mind or is it we ourselves who are unable to be at peace if we make a wrong choice. Who decides whether the choice is good or bad? Isn't it we ourselves? Why are we so judgemental all the time?

May be because once we have made a choice it is not simple to reverse it. May be because some way or the other we have to live with it for the rest of our lives. I think this has to be the reason, because when we make a choice that is good, we do remember it for the rest of our life… then how can we forget the bad one!!

If I do buy a bad t-shirt, I will think about it every time I see it!!

Good Morning..

Mornings are the best part of the day. Whatever happened yesterday is gone. Whether it was good or it was bad. The flowers that faded yesterday bloom again in the morning. The roads that went dead by the night are alive again with the first ray of the sun. . Everything is beautiful again. Everything is full of life again…

My love.... Coffee!! :)

Oh how I love coffee. I love it hot, I love it iced, I love full-caf, half-caf, de-caf, with cinnamon, with whipped crème, with heavy cream. With friends, alone at the computer, reading a paper, staring into space, driving my car. I can’t imagine life without it.
Which is pretty funny because the first time I tasted coffee, my mouth was so assaulted it tried to curl up on itself. ‘Yuk!’ said I. Mom laughed and told me it was good that I didn’t like it because then it would not become a habit. Little did she know…

Somewhere along the line, I made the connection between coffee and brain fog. Coffee made me a believer in the idea that one could actually live through the morning without anyone getting hurt! ;) And there are countless souls still walking the earth, thanks to coffee. (Little do they know, but let’s leave it on a need to know basis.)

Not to mention the fact that coffee can keep you awake when you should be sleeping. When you absolutely, positively must stay awake to finish that post, read that chapter, watch the end of that movie. Coffee is there for you. It does not judge, does not desert and does not care if you have a fat ass. It doesn’t care if you are popular or smart, funny or an idiot, it just is. It is quite simply the Zen of beverages. It is the oneness of the allness, the yin and the yang and above all, the reason to get out of bed in the morning.

Well, if you aren't such a big fan of coffee, you can also mistreat it in a lot of ways. Read them for yourself...
· Coffee can be used to dye paper and fabrics. If you put the beans in hot water their color will start to come out. You can use that water to dye fibers.

· If you need a good facial scrub, you can coarsely grind some coffee beans and use them to scrub your face. They have great exfoliating properties.

· Also, coffee is used in order to clean, purify, minimize the pores and remove the dead cells. The mask is prepared from a cup of coffee grounds mixed with the white of an egg and should be applied by massage on the face. When the coffee gets dry, remove it with warm water and use a moisturizing face lotion afterwards, especially those who already have a dry complexion. :)

· The power caffeine has against cellulite is world wide acknowledged, taking into account the fact that most of the anti-cellulite body lotions use it as a main ingredient. As a home-made natural product, a paste made of warm coffee beans and olive oil can be as effective as the commercial creams. Prepare this mixture and then rub it on the areas of your body that are affected by cellulite, then rinse off the remainders.

· If you’ve been preparing food and your hands smell like it, rub some coffee beans between your hands for a few seconds; you can also suck on a coffee bean to freshen and clean your breath, no matter what you’ve been eating. ;)

· Have a garden? Coffee makes great compost if you don’t use it in excess, and sprinkling coffee grounds and orange peels around plants will keep cats from bothering the plants or using the garden as their personal litter box.

· Greasy pans can be cleaned with the left over ground beans that you used to exfoliate and scrub your face.

· You can also use coffee beans, placed in a bowl in your refrigerator, to get rid of food smells that might accumulate in there.

See, that’s coffee!! Isn’t it useful for everyone now! Wow, I feel elevated jus by talking about it ;)

Strangers??? No........ Friends!!

Recently I was reading this article about making friends online and how some of them can turn out to be very good ones... It suddenly reminded me of own encounter, quite similar to that, though not exactly, but I did become a very good friend with an absolutely unknown guy!!

It happened almost 10 years back when I was doing my graduation… One day I was having lunch with some of my girl friends… after the lunch when we were leaving there was this bike parked right behind my car!! (Yeah… I used to drive a car in college and my friends used to call me “bade baap ki bigdi hui aulaad”!! ;)) That time I couldn’t drive a bike so I didn’t dare to touch it coz it might fall off!! I looked around but found no one to claim for it. there were some guys standing nearby, so I asked one of them to help me move the bike so that I could reverse my car. The guy removed the bike and I thanked him and we (my friends m me) left.

While I was dropping my friends I saw there were two guys on a Kinetic Honda following us! For sometime time it was fun coz we tried to take long routes and let them follow us. But they didn’t seem to stop, they kept following. I took a few more turns and finally looked in the rearview and found no one!! I was so happy to have dodged them away! Finally I reached home after seeing off everyone.

A month later, I get this call from a guy.
He- Can I talk to S?
Me- Yeah, speaking
He- Hi, my name is D. You don’t know me but I know you.
Me- So?
D - Some days back I followed you and found your address.
Suddenly it struck me that day when those two guys were following us on our way back from the restaurant. But I had lost them!! No!!
D- Hello?
Me- This is ridiculous! What do you want?
D- (His tone suddenly changing) No, I just liked the way you asked those guys to help you with that bike. You know girls now days have so much attitude; they think that all the guys have no other work except for running behind girls.
Me- (thinking what else are you doing now) Thank you.
D- Yeah, and you said thank you to that guy also that day. That was nice.
Me- (still surprised) How did you get my phone number?
D- I looked in the telephone directory.
Me- What? But you just knew my building, how did you know which apartment??
D - I checked with the watch man.
Me- (huh! this guy is stalking me) Please don’t call me again. Slam!!

I was sure I had been very rude and he won’t call again!! But after a few days I was surprised, he called again.
D- I just wanted to be friends with you.
Me- Please, first, I don’t know you and moreover I don’t want to be friends with you. Slam again!!

Again after some days, this guy is back!
D- Hi, its D. Hows you?
Me- (wondering who D) Fine.
D – So hows life?
Me- (suddenly recognizing his voice) Huh! Why do you call me?
D- I just wanted to be friends………..
...........Such conversations continued between us for some time and I dint even realize when we became friends! And once we were friends we would talk everyday discussing about our lives. He would bore me with his philosophy about life and everything and I would listen…He would tell me about his girl friends, his job, his problems… I would bore him with my life and it was like we became the very best of friends. Not even once did he try to propose to me, like I had thought he would!!

Guess what guys, all this was just over the phone… of course he had seen me but I had never even seen him!! :) So one day we decided to meet! But for me it didn’t really turn out to be very good! It was nothing to do with his appearance or anything… just the fact that I liked it more to talk to him on the phone. So we didn’t really meet after that except if we banged somewhere by luck! And believe me it did happen a lot of time!! ;)

We are still in contact, though not like earlier. There is something between us which is different! He still calls me his lucky number “191” (my car number plate) :) I still wonder sometimes that what really happened between us, I mean I am not someone who makes friends so easily! But neverthelss this was a wonderful experience...

Friends Forever!!

P.S.- I may have not quoted the conversation appropriately (like it happened 10 years back). But it was somewat similar... D if u r reading this, please dont laugh ur lungs out!! :D

Attitude.....huh!!

I think we always meet those people we are destined to meet. Once when I was flying from Doha to Dar es Salaam, I met this Mr. A, who was extremely humble and pleasant (unlike me)! ;)

Well that, altogether is a different question as to why I was taking that flight!! It so happened that I flying from Nagpur to Nairobi via Doha. The first half was perfectly fine, but when I reached Doha, and went to the transfer desk for my onward boarding pass, this guy tells me that the flight is over booked and so, no boarding pass!! While I was wondering what to do next, he tells me that they have an arrangement and it is slightly different from the original route; if it is okay with me… I said curbing all my anger and frustration, ‘can I help it?’ And guess what!! This guy gives me a smile in return!!! I thought itni himmat!! (Look at his courage) So he says that I will have to take a flight from Doha to Dar es Salaam and then from there to Nairobi. And I have been given a Y class booking!! So that was when I returned his smile :)… Now this guy tries to be over-concerned and tells me that I can have a free meal coupon. I thanked him and rushed to the duty-free shopping with whatever time I had left! (The kind of shopping freak I am!! :) )

Okay, so after browsing through everything I dint really find anything worth buying. These duty free shops, as they claim to be supposedly cheaper, I think are not so true!!
Okay after boarding the plane, I was wondering that it would be so good if there was no one on the seat next to me. That I could sleep comfortably without having anyone to disturb me and getting involved in unnecessary conversations… Soon I was pulled out of the trance and Mr. A emerged to claim this seat!! :(

Now as Mr. A was trying to settle, he was very angry coz the air conditioner wasn’t switched on, it was just the blower working. You know the way it is… they wait for the plane doors to be closed before switching it on. Well, the stewardess managed to calm him down by taking his coat and serving him a welcome drink…

Almost everything went the way I wanted until take-off!! And then… Mr. A started talking!! Oh…… how much I wanted to sleep!! He asked me which country I was from and where I was heading, he told me about himself also that he was from Syria and stayed in Dar es Salaam. Then he asked me whether I was working and if I was married and etc etc etc… Now apprehending that it was no use thinking that I could sleep anymore, I asked the stewardess to get me coffee…And I thought that its time that even I get started on asking a few things about him. So I started by telling him about what Qatar Airways did to me and that I have to now go to Dar es Salaam first and then reach Nairobi. He agreed with me that these airlines now a days can do anything to save their asses!!

Then I asked him about his work and what he replied, completely changed my perspective towards him. He told me that he is the Syrian Ambassador to Dar es Salaam and was on official visit to Doha. He said that he has also been the ambassador to New Delhi and that how much he likes India and shopping at Khan Market!! What??? did I hear shopping?!? Yeah that was when I started to like him.. :P(not that ways yaar). Then we just went on and on and on… He said that in India all names had a meaning and what did my name mean. Of course… he also told me what his name meant!! Then he told me that he has read the Mahabharat and Ramayan… and also started to give me some gyan that the pandavas shouldn’t have fought the kauravas n all….

Just before landing, Mr. A asked me whether the airlines issued me a boarding pass from Dar es Salaam to Nairobi… I said no, they didn’t, but the officer assured me that there would be no such problem again (over booking kinds) and it has been taken care of. Mr. A looking worried took out a visiting card scribbled something on the back and gave it to me. He said that was his visiting card and he has written his personal mobile number behind. In case there is any problem at the airport, I should call him!! I was shocked!! I mean, who cares now a days!! I said that there shouldn’t be any problem, but if there is any I shall call. He said that there will be people to coming to receive him at the airport and he will send one of them with me to check whether everything’s okay. I said that won’t be required. So he said that I should call him once I reach Nairobi. By now I was a little irritated as to why he was so worried and I can take care of my self!! Attitude you know… But the plane had already landed so I tried to cool myself that it’s over…

Being business class passengers we got to alight first and I saw his people right in front of the aircraft door to receive him. Well I didn’t expect them to be here… I thought they would be down at the visitors lounge or something!! Suddenly I got aware of his importance in the country!! He pleasantly introduced me to his colleagues and I said goodbye and left. Suddenly he called me and reminded that I should call him once I reach Nairobi. I was furious!!! I tried to calm down and once again look around the duty free shops for something worth buying!! But, no luck!! Then I went to get my boarding pass which, as promised, was ‘taken are of’! ;)

So this time everything went fine and I reached Nairobi safe and sound. After I reached home I was unable to decide whether to call him or not… finally I agreed with not calling.

The next morning when I woke up, something inside said what harm it can be to call up Mr. A… after all he was worried for me!! So I called! And guess what…. Mr. A had the guts to disconnect my call!! While I was cursing myself to have made that call, within seconds Mr. A called back! “Hi, hello n stuff, (again cursing myself for reacting like that), then I told him that I had reached safely and had no problem at the airport and that I didn’t call yesterday coz I reached home quite late, coz got stuck in traffic and some shit… He said he knew coz he had sent one of his colleagues to make sure I had no problems!! The second time I felt sick because of my attitude!! Well, he told me that he still has another year to go before he is transferred from Dar es Salaam and whenever I plan to go there, I should inform him and he will make all the arrangements. And before hanging up he said that I was like a sister to him…

OMG… I felt so embarrassed!! I mean, why do I have get so judgmental about everyone… some people aren't that bad!!

Well, I learnt a lesson that day!! :)

May be, may be not!

May be, may be not! Sometimes when you are at home, you want to go out. And sometimes when you are out, you want to be at home. Sometimes when you are working, you want to relax and sometimes when you are relaxing, you want to be busy. Why does it happen all the time? Is it just with me? Why can’t there be answers to all the questions? Why don’t we get what we want? Why do we have to make choices? Someone always tells me to prioritize things. Is it so important to prioritize? We can do things as we please. If we cannot get what we want then why are there choices anyway?

The mind keeps wandering without knowing what is going to happen. Even if you are organized, you still don’t know what’s coming ahead. If we could know how to put things together, life would be so simple.

Like they say “Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up.”
