Friends Forever...

When we grow up, do we just stop making friends? What suddenly goes so badly wrong that we realize that we have no friends at all! We all get busy with our lives, new jobs, new friends, new worries... But the ones who are not that busy with their work and don’t have much to do in their lives; they feel so dejected and lonely… Of course most of us have our spouses who are caring and loving and our families to be there forever. But still, friendship, I feel is the best thing that can ever happen to anyone…

It used to be fun in school, when because of somebody’s mischief; the whole class would have to stand out in the ground in the sun!! And even there, some of the guys would sneak away to play cricket, and the rest of us would be busy chatting and laughing like nothing has happened and it is just another free period! After all, it was the teachers who had to worry about completing the course before exams!!

Doesn’t being with friends make you all the more confident? Don’t we stop taking risks as we grow older? Is it just the age factor or the fact that we don’t have the same kind of friends we had when we were in schools and college… Or is it that we become more responsible and mature!! Well of course we were responsible then too!!

The things we can discuss with our friends and the kind of time we can spend with our friends, can we have the same time with our family?? Perhaps some wouldn’t agree with me. But the rest will '_'... It feels so good when you have spoken to an old good friend after a long time. It doesn’t occur even once how much time has passed by since we last spoke… Everything seems so apparent and obvious while speaking to them. The thinking process kind of suddenly starts matching with each other. They agree on what you agree, and disagree on what you disagree… And when they tell you that something that you are doing is wrong, you just start thinking over it again… It doesn’t matter even if we scream at each other. Things seem so perfect!!

Birthdays were so much fun that time… When friends called up to wishing you; it felt like they really want your birthday to be happy, from the bottom of their hearts!! They would plan surprise parties and invite the guy you had a crush on, and wanted to meet for a long time!! That used to be so much fun!! Coming home late from some party and telling your parents that you were at your friends place, studying for a test the next day!! And the test would invariably get cancelled!!

What happens when you watch a movie like Dil chahta hai or (the recent one) Dostana?? Makes you feel so happy and so sad at the same time. And makes you wonder, where are all those good friends gone?? The point is what goes wrong as we grow older?? Those of us who go abroad for work or whatever, away from all our families and good friends, when we come back, how many of us include meeting our friends also, in the (not so)hectic, or tight, or whatever scheduled small visit… We are the ones who push our friends away from our lives?

Well, this time when I go on my (not so) hectic visit back, I am gonna make it a point to meet all my friends and tell them how much I missed them!! Are you game??!!

Of course, I am game. U knw i've been the one wo has missed all my frnds more often..It was me who left the city n u all were in the same place. N even now, whn u come to India, I miss the opportunity to meet u, coz u meet the rest in ngp.
Neways, as u said, frnds agree n disagree together...so if u say u r busy, i take it; and vice cersa.
Well, this really is a genuine, frm the heart write-up...SO Somebody is finally missing frnds badly..V r always ther babes(i donno whom m including in WE)..luv ya

Almost gave ma deja vu :)
Friends mean a lot to me and I can totally identify with you on the working out of India part. We indeed lose out on the time with our friends when we get busy with our 'so called' hectic lives :)

You go gurl and yes, go make a trip with your friends. Since the last few years I've started doing exactly that.
